Laser Surgery

The use of laser technology in medicine is one of the most exciting scientific developments in the past few decades. Lasers have been developed for a variety of medical procedures, and can now be a great benefit in treating sun-damaged skin, facial wrinkles and scars and for removing skin moles and lesions.

A surgical laser such as the CO2 laser is a beam of light that can remove unwanted tissue without the bleeding associated with traditional surgical procedures. Skin imperfections can be treated one layer at a time to improve facial wrinkles, acne scars and other skin imperfections in both men and women.
Laser skin resurfacing may be used as an alternative to chemical peels and Dermabrasion. The benefits to using a laser technique are a faster recovery time and less discomfort. In most cases, only one treatment is necessary, and the initial redness caused by treatment fades in a few weeks and can be camouflaged by make-up.

The goal of laser skin resurfacing is to improve facial appearance. If you are interested in learning more about laser treatments, please contact our office.
